The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has accredited the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA®) to develop and maintain standards of performance for closers, locks, exit hardware and other devices used by builders. Check the BHMA/ANSI rating on your cylindrical lock to see how it's rated and ensure it's the right one for you.

There are three grades for cylindrical locks:
